White paper (for printing the template)
Colored cardstock (red for the horse, orange for the mane)
Scissors
Glue
Black marker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Print the template on white paper.

Carefully cut out all the parts: the body, head, tail, and two eyes.

Use the paper pieces as templates to trace and cut the parts from colored cardstock.
Cut one body, two heads, and two tail pieces from red cardstock.

Fold the body piece in half along the center line.

Glue the two tail pieces together, leaving the base unglued so it can be attached to the body.

Attach the tail to the back of the body using glue.

Glue one head piece onto a sheet of double-sided colored paper (we used orange).

Cut around the top to create the mane shape, then snip thin strips with scissors to imitate hair.

Glue the second head piece on top, sandwiching the mane between the layers.

Glue on the eyes, then draw the nostrils, smile, and bridle with a black marker.

Cut a slit on the horse’s back, matching the width of the head.

Insert and glue the head into the body.

Your paper horse is now ready!
