Materials Needed
- Free PDF printable template
- White paper (for printing)
- Colored double-sided cardstock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Black marker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Start by printing the free template on white paper.

Carefully cut out all the pieces: a large circle (head), a medium circle (body segment), a small circle (antenna tip), a rectangle (antenna), and the eyes.

Use these template pieces to trace and cut shapes from colorful double-sided cardstock. Cut two large circles for the head. For the body, cut as many medium circles as you like—the more you make, the longer your caterpillar will be! Also cut two small circles and two rectangles to create the antennae.

Now it’s time to assemble your cute caterpillar:
Make the antennae

Glue the small circles to the ends of the rectangles.

Then attach both antennae to one of the large head circles.

Create the head
Glue the second large circle on top to secure the antennae between the layers.

Add the eyes and draw a friendly smile with a black marker.

Build the body
Fold all the body circles in half.

Start gluing them together:
Glue the first two folded circles together with folds facing opposite directions.

Continue attaching the rest in the same direction to create a flexible, wavy body.

Attach the head
Once you’re happy with the body length, glue the head to the first folded circle.

Your adorable paper caterpillar is now complete!
