How to Make a Sombrero Paper Crown (Using the Black-and-White Template)
Follow these simple steps to create your sombrero crown using the black-and-white version:
You will need:
- The free printable black-and-white template (PDF)
- White cardstock or other sturdy paper
- Colored pencils, markers, or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue stick or tape
Instructions:
Print the template on white cardstock for durability.

Color the sombrero using bright and cheerful colors. Get creative with patterns and designs!

Carefully cut out the sombrero and the two paper strips provided in the template.

Glue the sombrero to the middle of one of the paper strips. Important: Only apply glue to the central part of the sombrero. Leave the wide brim (the outer edges of the hat) unglued — this gives the crown a fun 3D look.

Attach the second strip to one end of the first strip to extend the length.

Wrap the paper crown around the child’s head to check the fit. Adjust as needed and glue or tape the ends together to form a circle.

Now the Sombrero Paper Crown is ready to wear!
