In this guide, we’ll walk you through creating the craft using the black-and-white template.
Materials Needed:
- Free printable template (black-and-white version)
- White paper
- Colored pencils, markers, or paints
- Colored paper (we used red, but you can choose any color)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Instructions:
Print the template
Download and print the black-and-white template on white paper.

Color the details
Use colored pencils, markers, or paints to color the caterpillar, leaf, stem, and the black circular hole.

Cut out all parts
Carefully cut out the apple shape, leaf, stem, caterpillar, and hole.

Prepare the torn paper pieces
Take your colored paper and tear it into small pieces. For a classic look, choose red paper to represent the apple.

Cover the apple
Apply glue to the apple shape and stick the torn pieces of paper closely together so that no white space is visible.

Trim the edges
Once the apple shape is completely covered, flip it over and carefully trim away any paper that sticks out beyond the edges. This will make your apple look neat and polished.

Assemble the apple
Glue the stem to the top of the apple, then attach the leaf.

Add the hole and caterpillar
Glue the black circular hole anywhere on the apple. Then, place the caterpillar so it looks like it’s coming out of the hole.

Your original and funny Torn Paper Apple Craft is now complete! This cheerful project makes a great classroom activity, autumn decoration, or just a fun way to spend a creative afternoon with kids.
