  • 4 popsicle sticks (wooden sticks from ice cream)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black thread or yarn (for the bridle)
  • Acrylic paints or markers

Instructions:

1. Download and Print the Template

Download the free PDF template and print it on regular white paper or directly onto colored paper.

2. Cut Out the Template Pieces

Carefully cut out all the parts from the template:

  • Horse head
  • Tail
  • Body rectangle
  • Eyes (or use googly eyes if you prefer)

3. Trace and Cut from Colored Paper

Trace the pieces onto colored paper and cut them out:

  • 2 head pieces
  • 2 tail pieces
  • 1 body rectangle

Feel free to choose any color for your horse—brown, black, white, or even rainbow!

4. Cover the Toilet Paper Roll

Wrap the toilet paper roll with the colored rectangular body piece and glue it down. This will be your horse’s body.

5. Create the Mane

Cut thin strips of colored paper to form the mane. Glue the strips onto one of the head pieces, then glue the second head piece on top to sandwich the mane in between. Slightly fold the bottom edges of the head pieces to help attach it to the body later.

6. Add Eyes

Glue on the printed eyes or googly eyes.

7. Assemble the Tail

Glue the two tail pieces together, then fold a small section at the base to create a flap. This will help you glue the tail to the back of the body.

8. Paint the Legs

Paint the four popsicle sticks using acrylic paints or markers to match or contrast your horse. Let them dry completely.

9. Final Assembly

Glue the head and tail to the toilet paper roll. Then glue the four popsicle sticks underneath the roll to act as the legs.

10. Curl the Mane

Use scissors or a pencil to gently curl the paper strips of the mane to give it a fun, curly look.
