How to Make the Origami Dog

Print the template

Print the free template on white paper.

Cut out the squares

Carefully cut out the two squares — one with the dog’s face and one with the body.

Folding the Dog’s Head

Take the square with the dog’s face.

Fold the square in half diagonally to make a triangle, so the dog’s face is looking at you.

Fold the right corner down.

Fold the left corner down. These folds form the dog’s ears.

Fold the bottom corner inward to shape the head.

Folding the Dog’s Body

Take the second square with the dog’s body.

Fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle, with the body facing you.

Fold the bottom right corner upward to create the dog’s tail.

Assembling the Dog

Join the two parts using glue.

Insert the body piece into the head piece and secure it with glue.

Now your paper dog is ready!

Time to Color!

Once the origami dog is assembled, kids can start decorating.

Color the eyes and tongue using colored pencils, markers, or paints.

Add patterns and fur colors.

We drew black spots to make a cute Dalmatian, but children can use their imagination to design their own unique dog — brown, golden, rainbow, or even fantasy colors!
