- Colored cardstock (for the fish’s body, tail, and mouth)
- Colored paper (for the scales)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
Instructions
Print and cut out the template
Print the free template on white paper. Carefully cut out all the parts: the big circle, the large heart, the small heart, the eye, and the small circle.

Prepare the fish body parts
- Use the big circle as a template to cut out the fish’s body from colored cardstock.
- Cut the large heart from cardstock to create the tail.
- Cut the small heart from cardstock for the mouth.
- Use the eye piece from the template to cut out or simply glue it directly.

Make the fish scales
Take the small circle from the template and use it to cut many circles from colored paper. These circles will become the fish’s scales. You can choose one color for a uniform look or mix different bright colors for a rainbow fish.

Fold and glue the scales
Fold each circle in half. Starting from the middle of the fish’s body, glue the folded circles in overlapping rows, moving outward. This creates a layered 3D effect.

Assemble the fish
Glue the eye onto the fish’s head.

Glue the small heart on the front for the mouth.

Attach the tail (large heart) to the back.

Your beautiful, colorful paper fish craft is now complete!
