How to Make a 3D Sheep with Paper Napkins
Step 1: Print the Template
Print the free sheep template on a sheet of white paper.
The template includes all the shapes you need to make the craft:
a large circle for the sheep’s body
the sheep’s head
two eyes
a fluffy wool piece for the top of the head
one leg template
Carefully cut out all the template pieces.
Step 2: Prepare the Cardstock Pieces
Use the paper templates as patterns to cut the pieces from cardstock.
Cut the large circle and the fluffy wool piece from white cardstock.
Use black cardstock to cut:
the sheep’s head
four legs
The black head and legs create a lovely contrast with the fluffy white body.
Step 3: Make the Fluffy Sheep Body
Now comes the most fun part!
Take several white paper napkins and cut each napkin into four smaller pieces. Take each small square and gently crumple it into a little ball.
Make plenty of these small napkin balls. You will need enough to completely cover the white cardstock circle.
Start gluing the napkin balls around the outer edge of the circle. Once the edges are covered, continue working toward the center.
Keep adding the fluffy napkin pieces until the entire circle is covered. Try to place the pieces close together so that very little of the cardstock underneath is visible.
You will now have a soft, fluffy, three-dimensional sheep body.
Step 4: Make the Fluffy Head Wool
Use the same technique for the small white wool piece.
Cover it with crumpled pieces of white napkin, creating a fluffy texture. This piece will become the sheep’s woolly tuft.
Step 5: Assemble the Sheep
Glue the black sheep’s head onto the fluffy body.
Next, attach the fluffy white wool piece to the top of the sheep’s head.
Glue the two eyes onto the face.
Then attach the four black legs to the back or bottom part of the body.
Step 6: Add the Face
Use a white marker or white paint to draw the sheep’s cute facial details. You can create a small smiling mouth and other simple details to give your sheep a friendly expression.
