Cut Out the Tree Parts: Carefully cut out the hand-shaped trunk and the round tree crown from the template. If you’re using the black-and-white version, let your child color the tree with fall-themed colors before cutting.

Assemble the Tree: Once the pieces are cut out, glue the circular crown onto the sheet of cardstock, and then glue the hand-shaped tree trunk.

Add the Autumn Leaves: Now comes the fun part—decorating the tree! Take your assortment of buttons and glue them onto the crown of the tree. Use yellow, orange, and red buttons to mimic the beautiful colors of autumn leaves. Encourage kids to arrange the buttons however they like, making each tree unique!

Create Fallen Leaves: To complete the autumn scene, glue a few buttons near the base of the tree trunk to represent fallen leaves scattered on the ground.

Tips for Extra Fun
Personalize the Black-and-White Version: Children can get creative by coloring in the tree with crayons or markers before gluing the buttons on.

Button Alternatives: If you don’t have buttons, you can also use colored paper circles, stickers, or even small pompoms to represent the leaves.
Family Handprints: For an extra personal touch, use your child’s actual handprint for the trunk, making this a keepsake craft that’s unique to your family!
